Cadanse opens in a browser, but it doesn't have to stay there. In a few seconds, your phone can give it an icon next to your other apps. You then get in with one tap, full screen, with no address bar and without having to find the address or sign in again every time.
There is nothing to download from an app store: the browser places the icon itself.
On iPhone and iPad
The gesture only exists in Safari. If you are reading this in Chrome, or in the browser built into Facebook or Instagram, open the page in Safari first.
- Open Cadanse in Safari and sign in.
- Tap the Share button (the square with an upward arrow) — at the bottom of the screen on iPhone, at the top right on iPad.
- Scroll the list and tap Add to Home Screen.
- Adjust the name if you like, then tap Add.
The icon appears on your home screen. Open Cadanse from that icon from now on.
On iPhone, this is not just a convenience: Cadanse notifications can only arrive if the app has been added to the home screen and opened from that icon. That is an Apple constraint, not a Cadanse setting.
On Android
- Open Cadanse in Chrome and sign in.
- Tap the three-dot menu at the top right.
- Tap Add to Home screen (depending on the version, the entry is called Install app).
- Confirm.
Chrome sometimes offers the installation on its own, through a banner at the bottom of the screen. You can accept it: it is the same gesture.
On a computer
In Chrome and Edge, a small install icon appears at the end of the address bar. One click, and Cadanse opens in its own window, separate from your tabs. In Safari on Mac, use File › Add to Dock.
What the icon does not change
Let us be clear on one point, to spare you a bad surprise: the icon is not an offline app. Cadanse still needs a connection. With no network, the icon shows no more than an ordinary website — which matters especially in a community-centre basement or backstage at a venue.
Your data, your access and your passwords stay exactly the same. The icon is a shortcut, nothing more.
Removing the icon
Like any other app: press and hold it, then choose to remove it. Your Cadanse account is untouched, and you can keep using Cadanse in your browser.
